And we’re delighted to announce Distant Future is the only animation company in leeds to make the list. Actually, we’re the only animation company full stop to make the list! And this, just after the company’s win at the Keighley & Airedale Business Awards.
How we made the list
Digital Enterprise Top 100 profiles those who have improved their performance through investment in business technology and expertise. Further, it recognises how those changes transformed the company through a dedicated and focused business plan.
Over the last year and a half, we created new key positions within the company. We also appointed various animators from around the world on various projects. And we replenished our studio system with some of the best tech in the industry.
But what we also do is ensure our company keeps on learning. Each member of our team is currently studying towards certification for a specialist area within their field. Why? Because recognising that nurturing a team’s talents is one of the most beneficial ways to upgrade a company’s skill set. And it certainly seems to have set us in good stead this year.

Putting it all together
This year especially, all our hard work has started to pay off. Indeed, we have witnessed our recent wins firmly putting our animation company on the Leeds City Region map professionally and digitally.
We are very aware that the digital sector is one of the fastest-growing sectors in the UK. For example, in November 2018 there was a 32.9 per cent increase in its contribution to the domestic economy. This in turn pushed its value up to £130 billion.
Leeds is also a recipient of investment in its creative sectors from the Industrial Strategy Challenge Fund. Combined further with the recent news about the CH4 move to the city, Distant Future is well-placed to be part a new chapter.
